Development of an Application for 3D Modeling of Insect Wings using Computer Vision

The development of a precise model is the first step in any finite element analysis. Taking the geometrical complexity of many biological and engineering structures into account, the process of modeling could be very time consuming and challenging in practice. Insect wings represent striking examples of complex biological structures. In this project, we aim to develop an application that automatically extracts the geometrical parameters of wings and generates a detailed finite element model.
